In this section, you plan how to connect cameras and devices to each other. There are different ways that all the equipment can be connected to each other. There are factors that are very important to pay attention to in these methods:
1. The number of ports available on the POE switch
2. The number of LAN ports available on the NVR
3. Using a suitable and strong router and modem
4. Direct cable connection from POE switch to NVR and router
In this way, we teach how to connect IP cameras to the network with a POE switch with an Uplink output. The POE switch is connected to the router using its Uplink port. And the NVR is directly connected to the router. The cameras are connected to each other through the POE switch and the router. Since all the equipment is on the same network, the NVR will also be able to connect to the network and receive the images from the cameras.
In this section, it is briefly explained how to connect them:
1. First, connect the LAN port of the NVR to the LAN port of the router.
2. Connect the Uplink port of the POE switch to another port of the router.
3. Connect the IP cameras to the PoE switch ports.
In this section, we discuss how to install IP cameras using a switch with two Uplink ports. This method allows the NVR to connect directly to the POE switch to transmit data without delay or problem.
In this section, it is briefly explained how to connect them:
1. Connect the NVR to one of the Uplink ports of the POE switch.
2. Connect the router to the other Uplink port of the POE switch.
3. Connect the IP cameras to the POE ports of the switch.
In this way, first we should connect all the cameras with a network cable behind the NVR to the PoE ports.
All NVRs has 2 different network cards, one is if we use a Switch and connect it to the NVR and the other is when we directly connect cameras behind our PoE NVR.
Please note, the IP address in these two ways are different, and if we connect IP cameras directly behind the NVR, we are not able to see these IPs with a PC that is in the same network.
Now, after turning on the NVR, you have to set a password on your NVR, and answer some safety questions.
Then it is the time to adjust time and date, and set your NVR IP address, you can choose to select IP manually or automatically.
If your NVR is plug and play, all the cameras pop up promptly and you can see all the cameras, so you can do the rest of configuration.
Format hard drive, adjust video setting and if you prefer set a perimeter to receive notification on your phone.
On the bottom of the screen, you will see a mobile phone badge, click on, and scan the QR Code to set up cameras on the smart phone.
